Programs are designed for ages 16+

Tuesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 28,  6 to 8 p.m.  |  Botanical Sketchbooks
Two sessions. In this sketching class, we will focus on using sparkle and gold. We'll look at historical examples of plant illustrations on a gold background and play with ways to liven up a sketchbook using different materials to provide sparkle. Open to all experience levels, the class provides materials for you to borrow but students may bring extra materials such as pencils, erasers, sketchbooks, and other preferred items. Pre-registration is required at least one week in advance of the first session.
Workshop fee:
$65 | Garden members receive 20% off.

Sunday, June 28,  10 a.m. to noon  |  Observational Drawing
Reduce stress and practice bringing attention to the present moment through observational drawing. This class, led by Chelsea Herman, invites participants to explore drawing as a mindfulness practice with a primary focus on using line, shape, light, shadow, volume, and  form to notice the world (in this case, the plant world) in new ways. While this approach to observational drawing often yields wonderful artwork, the emphasis on this class is process before product. Designed for beginning and experienced artists alike. All supplies provided. Pre-registration is required at least one week in advance.
Course Fee: $35  |  Garden members receive 20% off.
