Observational Drawing: Form

DATE: Sunday 12/13/26   TIME: 10:00am - 12:00pm

Programs are designed for ages 16+

Sunday, October 18, 10 a.m. to noon  |  Observational Drawing: Line
Reduce stress and practice bringing attention to the present moment through observational drawing. This class, led by Chelsea Herman, invites participants to explore drawing as a mindfulness practice with a primary focus on using line, shape, light, shadow, volume, and form to notice the world (in this case, the plant world) in new ways. While this approach to observational drawing often yields wonderful artwork, the emphasis on this class is process before product. Designed for beginning and experienced artists alike. Attend individual classes or all five in the series to develop technical skills, expand curiosity, reduce stress, and notice the plant world anew through drawing. All supplies provided. Pre-registration is required at least one week in advance.
Course Fee: $35  |  Garden members receive 20% off.

Tuesday, October 27, 6 to 8:30 p.m.  |  Botanical Illustration: Fall Garden Journals

Weather permitting, participants will walk outside to gather materials for their books while enjoying the fall colors and flowers. Please bring photocopies of any personal fall-themed photographs you would like to include. Led by Camille Werther.
