FUN CAMP THEMES THAT CONNECT CHILDREN TO NATURE
STEM INTO NATURE
4-DAY WEEKS, MAY 26-29 OR JUNE 15-18 - Holiday Week
At Lauritzen Gardens, STEM meets nature! Campers will uncover the science of plants and ecosystems while exploring engineering, design, and innovation throughout the gardens, including Sofia’s Play Garden and the reimagined Marjorie K. Daugherty Conservatory. It’s a week designed to inspire big ideas, creative thinking, and discovery.
DINOSAURS AROUND THE WORLD
JUNE 1-5, JULY 6-10, OR JULY 27-31 - Standard Camp
Calling all dinosaur fans! Our summer exhibition Dinosaurs Around the World, features 15 animatronic dinosaurs, in settings showcasing the original continent configuration of Pangea. In addition to these unique dinosaurs, we will explore themes like tectonic plates and geological formations that impacted how the dinosaurs lived! And, of course, camp wouldn't be complete without exploring plants at Lauritzen Gardens with prehistoric origins, along with dinosaur-themed crafts, games, and other activities!
COLOR YOUR WORLD
JUNE 8-12 OR JULY 20-24 - Standard Camp
Art and nature go together like sunshine and flowers! This creative week of camp will feature all of the above, with an exploration of art across Lauritzen Gardens' 100 acres. Think beyond the joys of painting or coloring to explore music, drawing, sculpture, and more in the great outdoors.
WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE
JUNE 22-26 OR JULY 13-17 - Partner Camp
Dive into a world of WILD things in this unforgettable summer camp at Lauritzen Gardens and Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium. We invite campers to engage in team-building activities, fun games, nature-centered projects and observation to discover the fascinating world of wild animals, their unique features, and their habitats. Join us for a week of creativity, art, exploration, and appreciation for the wild wonders around us.
WILD AND WONDERFUL WEATHER
JUNE 29-JULY 3 OR AUGUST 3-7 - Standard Camp
Where would we be without the wild, seasonal weather of the Midwest! What about the tropical nature of the Amazon Rainforest or the dry climate of the Sonoran Desert? Our gardens, and other natural areas around the world, depend on a variety of types of weather to grow and thrive. We'll explore them all in this worthwhile week of weather camp!
